Roy Dale "Paley" Clem, 67, of 804 Edgewood St., Grottoes, died Friday, Aug. 29, 2008, at his home. Roy was born March 1, 1941, in Shenandoah, and was the son of the late Alma "Boots" Beaghan and stepson of the late W.J. "Billy" Beaghan.
He retired as a salesman from Nolan Company after 42 years of service. He was a long-standing member of the Verona Moose Lodge and was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Raynes Clem of Grottoes; three sons, Dwayne Clem of Grottoes, Jarrett Clem and wife, Tammy, of Harrisonburg, Shannon Clem and wife, Denell, of Grottoes; four grandchildren, Brooke A. Clem, Bryson D. Clem, Autumn M. Clem, Kyla L. Clem; two special aunts, Mary Kathryn Baugher of Elkton, Eva Dean and husband, Aubrey, of Shenandoah; one uncle, Noah Lee Clem Jr. and wife, Phyllis, of Shenandoah.
He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Noah Lee and Flossie Virginia Clem.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2008, at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Pastor John Neff will conduct the service.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg. Friends may also call at the home at any time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
