Joyce Ann Lam Sours, 72, of Elkton, died Thursday, July 10, 2008, at her home after a courageous battle with cancer.
Mrs. Sours was born Nov. 12, 1935, in the Swift Run area of Rockingham County and was the daughter of the late Elmer C. and Zada A. Haney Lam. Besides her parents she was also preceded in death by a brother, Alton Lam and a son, Mark Sours.
Mrs. Sours was a lifetime resident of this area and a member of the Elkton Evangelical United Methodist Church. She had worked at Shen-Gas, Leggetts, and for the past 14 years was a bookkeeper for Bill Neff Enterprises.
On June 29, 1955, she married Clyde I. Sours, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Gary Sours and wife, Melody, Bruce Sours and wife, Judy, all of Elkton; one daughter, Nancy Sours and fiancé, Kevin Dovel, of Elkton; four grandchildren, Crystal Meadows, Jennifer Sours, Dustin Sours, Emily Sours; and one great-granddaughter, Megan Breeden.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, July 13, 2008, at the Evangelical United Methodist Church in Elkton with Pastor Patricia Riggs, Pastor Nona Allen and Adam Snow officiating. Burial will follow in the Elk Run Cemetery in Elkton.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton.
