Harvey Eugene Stover, 69, of Melrose, died Friday, Aug. 15, 2008, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg.

Mr. Stover was born Oct. 17, 1938, in Staunton, and was the son of the late Raymond E. and Frances Fulwider Stover.

He was employed by Metro Pants in Bridgewater, was a mechanic with the Ford Motor Company and more recently was employed by the City of Harrisonburg.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Anale Perry Stover, whom he married Jan. 14, 1956; two sons, Harvey L. Stover and John O. Stover, and a daughter, Cathy Stover Smallwood, all of Melrose; a sister, Alice Stover Fauber of Weyers Cave; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pastors Lloyd T. Sprinkle and Guy Hudson will conduct the funeral 11 a.m. Tuesday at Melrose Church of the Brethren. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery.

There will be no formal visitation but friends are welcome to come by the Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg at anytime.
