Treva Oneta Comer

Treva Oneta Comer, 85, of Shenandoah, passed away July 11, 2010, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg.

Mrs. Comer was born March 17, 1925, in the Grove Hill area of Page County and was the daughter of the late Luther H. and Lottie Morris.

Mrs. Comer was a member of the Grove Hill United Methodist Church and attended the Shenandoah Baptist Church. She was a lifetime resident of the area and a homemaker.

On July 20, 1945, she married Wilbur Comer, who preceded her in death on April 13, 1990. Mrs. Comer is survived by sons, Alton Comer and wife, Judy, of Harrisonburg, Lonnie Comer and wife, Kathy, of Shenandoah, Dennis Comer and wife, Bonnie, Carlton Comer and wife, Brandy, all of Elkton, Timothy Comer of Dunlap, Tenn., Calvin Comer and Kenneth Comer, both of Shenandoah; daughters, Judy Hammer and Glenda Hammer, both of Elkton, Elaine Lucas and husband, Kenneth, Faye Short and husband, Timmy, all of Shenandoah; brother, Luther Glendon Morris of Charlottesville; 38 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Comer was also preceded in death by sons, Larry H. and Arthur W. Comer; sister, Cyrethia Taylor and brother, Julian Morris.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at the Shenandoah Baptist Church with the Rev. Hudson Nuckols and the Rev. Jimmy Kite officiating. Burial will follow in the Warren Comer Cemetery in the Fleeburg area of Page County.

The family will receive friends tonight (Tuesday) from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Shenandoah Baptist Church. Friends may also call at the home of her son, Lonnie and Kathy Comer, at any time.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Shenandoah Baptist Church, 428 Fourth St., Shenandoah, VA 22849.

woman and very upbeat person to be around! I'll never forget the childhood
memories that I shared with you and your Grandmother. She always knew how to

I knew some of you from when I used to come visit Treva and Grace. My
condolences go out to you on your loss. I was glad to get to know Treva and many
of you also. I am sorry that I missed the funeral. I didn’t find out about her
passing until after the funeral. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Any of
