Edna Frances Chittum Lewis, 98, passed away July 8, 2010, in Hendersonville, Tenn.
Mrs. Lewis was born Dec. 5, 1911, in Shenandoah, and was the daughter of the late Sam and Elizabeth Minick Royer. She was also preceded in

death by husbands, Arthur B. Chittum, and Samuel H. Lewis; a son, Eugene Chittum, and seven brothers.
Edna had previously attended Port Republic United Methodist Church and interacted with friends at the Senior Citizens Center in Grottoes, where she often drove the travel bus. She enjoyed the company of folks and took pleasure in planting flowers and feeding birds. She was an inspector for Klein Chocolate Co. before retiring.
Surviving are her son, Nelson Chittum and wife, Shirley, of Hendersonville, Tenn.; her daughter, Judith Donnelly and husband, S
teven, of Puyallup, Wash.; eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
The Rev. Gene Williams will conduct a funeral service 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at Kyger Funeral Home Chapel in Harrisonburg. Burial will follow at Mount Crawford Cemetery in Mount Crawford.
The family will receive friends today (Monday) from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
