Dave Jerlinski, 79, of Harrisonburg, passed away on Saturday, June 26, 2010, at his residence.
Mr. Jerlinski was born on Sept. 24, 1930, in Hackensack, N.J., and was a son of the late Joseph and Agnes Koc Jerlinski.
Dave worked for many years at Hill Crest Dye Works, and most recently worked for The Rag Shop for 12 years. He was very active in the Seniors Club, where he enjoyed playing BINGO and cards and taking day trips. He was an usher at Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Church. During the Korean War, Mr. Jerlinski served in the U.S. Navy.
On May 30, 1953, he married Jeanette Mungo, who survives.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Jerlinski is survived by two sons, Joe Jerlinski and wife, Sharon, and David Jerlinski and wife, Elizabeth, both of Harrisonburg; one brother, Vinnie Jerlinski and wife, Jerry, of Pennsylvania; one sister, Helen Jerlinski of Pennsylvania; six grandchildren, Jeffery Chuako, Kim Chuako, Justin Burchill, Jared Jerlinski, Krista Burchill, and Bianca Jerlinski and four great-grandchildren, Morgan Milligan, Hailey Chuako, Jake Chuako, and Leah Markley. He was preceded in death by two brothers, John Jerlinski and Lenny Jerlinski, and a sister, Fran Hanna.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 29, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. at the Catholic Community of the Holy Infant in Elkton with Father Thomas Mattingly officiating. Military Rites will be by the Gooden Brothers VFW Post No. 9292. The family will receive friends following the service.
