Charles Norman Shifflett, Jr.

Charles Norman Shifflett Jr., 62, of Harrisonburg, passed away June 22, 2010, at his home.

Mr. Shifflett was born March 22, 1948, in Harrisonburg, and was the son of the late Charles N. "Doodle" Shifflett Sr. and Lois Odessa Good Shifflett. He enjoyed whittling and wood working and listening to old music.

On Nov. 2, 1996, Mr. Shifflett married Ellie (Rettig) Shifflett, who survives. Also surviving are brothers, Gordon Shifflett and wife, Emily, Mount Crawford, and Phillip Wayne Shifflett and wife, Connie, Harrisonburg; a sister, Mary Lou Long and husband, Bobby, Harrisonburg; and a cousin, Alan Ray Kratzer and wife, Frances, Harrisonburg.

A graveside service will be help 11 a.m. Saturday, July 10, 2010, at the Singers Glen Community Cemetery.

Donations for funeral cost may be made to Kyger Funeral Home, 3173 Spotswood Trail, Harrisonburg, VA 22801.

Sorry for your loss. May you find hope in the words at Acts 24:15, "and I
have hope toward God, which hope these [men] themselves also entertain, that
there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous." Resurrection
is a standing up again, a coming to life. It is the hope of seeing Mr.Charles
again. May this hope and your good memories bring you a measure of comfort.
