Phillip Wayne Hensley, 57, of Elkton, passed away June 25, 2010, at Fair Haven Adult Home near Elkton.

Mr. Hensley was born Oct. 16, 1952, in Harrisonburg and was the son of the late Norman Willie and Maxine Tobin Hensley. He was previously employed at Friendship Industries and enjoyed fishing, collecting die-cast model cars and putting puzzles together.

Phillip is survived by a brother, Donald Hensley, Mount Crawford; sisters, Judith Ann Forest and husband, Paul, Lynchburg, Diane Faye Thompson and husband, Lewis, Mount Sidney, and Esther Mae Turner and husband, Glendon, Hinton; extended family, including a number of nieces and nephews, and many special friends at Fair Haven.

The Rev. Paul Forrest will conduct the funeral service 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 29, 2010, at the Kyger Funeral Home Chapel in Harrisonburg. Burial will follow at the East Lawn Memorial Gardens near Harrisonburg.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Hahn Cancer Center, 2008 Health Care Drive, Harrisonburg, VA 22801.

Phillip W. Hensley Phillip was a warm and kind individual with a welcoming smile. He was a loyal friend to his Fair Hven family and their families. He generously allowed us to tour his model car collection which was a highlight of our visits. We will remember him with affection and keep his family and friends in our prayers.
