Floyd Ray Wood, 64, of Shenandoah, passed away June 25, 2010, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Wood was born June 2, 1946, in Elkton and was the son of the late Floyd Wilson and Marie Huddle Wood. He was a carpenter in the Charlottesville area for more than 25 years. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and enjoyed NASCAR racing. He also enjoyed restoring old cars. Ray was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
On Jan. 12, 1973, he married Amenda Campbell, who survives.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Wood is survived by a son, Darrell Grant Rinaca of Sarasota, Fla.; two daughters, Amy Gaskins of Harrisonburg and Heather Hiserman and husband, Matthew, of Toms Brook; a brother, Gary Wood of Elkton; and four grandchildren, Wesley Rinaca, Lacey Rinaca, Kyle Rinaca and Paige Hiserman.
A memorial service will be help 2 p.m. Sunday afternoon, June 27, 2010, at the Kyger Funeral Home Chapel in Elkton with the Rev. Everette Hughes officiating. Burial will be held privately and there will be no formal visitation.
