Eva Alene Botkins, 78, of Harrisonburg, passed away Sunday, June 20, 2010, after a period of declining health.
Eva was born April 15, 1932, in Rockingham County and was the daughter of the late Otha Hansbrough and Irene Davis Kunz, who survives.
She was a homemaker and raised her five children and a grandson. She loved to watch birds in the yard and cooking for her family.
On Dec. 28, 1951, she married Stanley Linwood Botkins, who survives.
She is also survived by a son, Ronnie L. Botkins and wife Rosemary, of Broadway; daughters, Karen B. Hoover and husband David of Weyers Cave, Tammy S. Stoneburner and husband Daniel of Linville, Kathy I. Pitsenbarger and husband Chris of Harrisonburg; and Linda G. Botkins and partner John of Timberville; grandchildren, Christina, Davy, Kevin, Kelly, Travis, Amber, Kailey and Chase; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Sharon Stickley and husband Jake of Harrisonburg, and Wanda Baker and husband Robert of Harrisonburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Curtis Hansbrough, a great-granddaughter and a special niece.
Funeral services will be held at 11 o'clock Wednesday morning, June 23, 2010, at the Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
