Dear Mary & Family,
I was so sorry to hear about the death of your
mother/grandmother, and wish to express my sincere sympathy. Mrs. Yancey was a
beautiful and wonderful lady. Her many positive contributions, her faith in
God, and her love for friends and family helped to make this area a better place
in which to live. She will be missed.
May all the many beautiful memories of
all the wonderful experiences you shared together serve to comfort you, console
you, sustain you, and give you peace.
God Bless you.

Love,
Deloris

Dear Southerly and Yancey Families,

I was shocked to read that a special lady
and teacher is gone. I have so many memories of her--her love of literature,
French class, French club dinners at her home and those amazing foreign language
fieldtrips. I hope that I was able to instill these same kinds of memories in
my own students. I'm so glad that you had her card shower in February so we had
the opportunity to in a small way show what she has meant to so many. God bless
all of you. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

To the Yancey Family
We were both Latin students of your Mom, "Mrs. Yancey". Even though it
was known as a dead language, your Mom pointed out how much Latin words have
influenced our culture...particularly medicine. What a great educator! And after
reading her obituary, we find out more that she was an extraordinary lady that
"filled up" her life. May God give you peace and comfort, and may you
have sweet memories.

Yancy Family
I didn't know, until today, of the loss of your mother. Interestingly, only a
few days ago I told one of my granddaughters about my "favorite
teacher", Mrs. Yancey. She was my friend's mother, my Sunday School
teacher, the church organist, my English, French and Latin teacher. What an
amazing woman! She knew more about the Bible than most pastors have forgotten
and made it so interesting that she held me captive. I've know and loved her my
whole life.

My condolences to the entire family.

My sincere condolences
I am so very sorry to hear of the passing of Mrs. Yancey. When I was very
young, after a visit to Hilltop with my mother, I made the announcement that
"That Mrs Yancey is the nicest lady in our family!" My whole family has
always adored her. She was such a gracious and lovely person and a dear friend
of my mother's. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.

To the Family
My wife and I both had classes under Mrs. Yancey and we have been involved in
the many plays and community productions she directed. She was a great
instructor and so pleasant to work with in plays. I especially remember the
1976 Pageant she directed at Elkton.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the
family.

To Mary Eiler, Sarah, and Bernie
My thoughts and prayers have been with you today. You have lost a very special
person who served her family and the community so well for so many years. Your
mother was a favorite of my mother and father. Her passing brings to a close an
impressive generation of very special people. Joyce and I would love for you to
visit us in Tennessee.

To the Yancey Family
I can't think of your mom without thinking of English, French, and Latin classes
as well as watching her sit at the organ and play on Sunday mornings. What a
great lady and such a life long friend to our family especially my mom. May you
know that all of our family feel your loss and has been in our thoughts and
prayers these past days. Heaven has gained a special angel and earth has lost a
special Southern lady.

To the Family
So very sorry for your loss. I so remember the times at the Presbyterian Church
at Bible School and your Mom teaching and play the organ for the Sunday services
for so many years. Yes, Heaven has gained a special angel for sure.

To the Yancey Family
I have but the fondest memories of Mrs. Yancey, the wonderful outings at her
home, the many singing engagements at Elkton Prebyterian, the Drama and
Literature classes - I was convinced she had all of the text books
memorized.

A wonderful lady - Indeed!
