Gerald George "G.G." Hulvey of Bridgewater passed away on Friday May 28, 2010, at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.
Mr. Hulvey was born on Aug. 17, 1943, in Alexandria, Va., and was a son of the late Arnold Orain and Edith Virginia Branner Hulvey.
Gerald graduated from Groveton High School in Alexandria and served an apprenticeship in Tool and Dye while attending Blue Ridge Community College and Massanutten Vo-Tec. After finishing the apprenticeship, Mr. Hulvey worked in Tool and Dye for 36 years for Space Conditioning, which later became Dunham-Bush. He was a member of Harrisonburg Moose Lodge No. 1686, the American Vets, the Eagles Aerie No. 4264 in New Market, and was a charter member of the Eagles Aerie No. 4150 in Harrisonburg.
Mr. Hulvey is survived by two sisters, Joan E. Carter of Dayton, Va., and Shirley F. Dooley of Staunton, Va.; special friend, Pauline Hensley of Harrisonburg; two nieces and one nephew. Mr. Hulvey was preceded in death by two brothers, Wayne T. Hulvey, and Larry G. Hulvey.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 2, 2010, at 2 p.m. at the Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg with Pastor Wayne Wright officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Burial will be held privately.
