William Anderson “Andy” DePoy, age 46, passed away on Friday, May 21, 2010 at his residence in Harrisonburg, VA. Mr. DePoy was born on April 8, 1964 in Harrisonburg, the son of Jack DePoy of Har risonburg and the late Kittie Anderson DePoy (9-17-2009). He married Amy B. Homan, who survives in Harrisonburg, VA. Andy was a 1982 graduate of Franklin High School, attended Fairmont State College, was a member of Franklin Moose #769, Harrisonburg Elks #452, and was a Presbyterian. Mr. DePoy owned and operated A & J Excavating.
In addition to his wife, Andy is survived by: 2 Daughters, Hannah Byrd DePoy and Evelyn Carter DePoy, both of Harrisonburg; 2 Sisters, Kathie Brandt and Husband Randy of Fishersville, VA, Ellen Golden and Husband Craig of Winchester, VA; 2 Brothers, JC DePoy and Wife Anne, and Bobby Rowe and Wife Karen, both of Harrisonburg, VA; 10 Nieces and Nephews, Mitch, Emily, Addie, Katherine, Elizabeth, Grant, Bryce, Eric, Kyle, and Jessica.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 25, 2010, 6-8 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin, WV. Rev. Susie Echols and Pastor Tresa Quarles will conduct graveside services on Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at 10:30 AM at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Franklin, WV. A Celebration of Life will be held at Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg on Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at 3:00 PM. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or Pendleton County High School Sports Boosters, POB 206, Franklin, WV 26807.
