Elizabeth Ellen "Betty" Moran, 78, of Harrisonburg, went to be with the Lord May 12, 2010, at Avante of Harrisonburg.
Mrs. Moran was born May 29, 1931, in Buffalo, N.Y., and was the daughter of the late Fred and Margaret Becker.
She moved to the Valley in March of 1984 from Ormond Beach, Fla., and was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing cards and was a loving mother and grandmother.
On June 25, 1949, she married George Henry Moran, who preceded her in death on Oct. 29, 1985.
Mrs. Moran is survived by daughters, Karen Ortiz and husband, Bill, of Harrisonburg, and Laura Kropp and husband, Jeff, of Florida; grandsons, Steven M. Ortiz of Harrisonburg, William Ortiz Jr. of Penn Laird, and Raymond Ortiz of Ohio; and eight great-grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, Mrs. Moran was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Becker, and a sister, Rita Johnson.
