Clinton Craig Jeffries

Clinton Craig Jeffries, 51, of Elkton, passed away Saturday, May 8, 2010, at his home.

Clint was born June 2, 1958, in Lynchburg, Va., and was a son of Ronald Franklin and Mary Alice "Mickey" Jeffries of Pilot Mountain, N.C.

He graduated from E.C. Glass High School in 1976 and went on to attend the Nashville Auto Diesel College in 1977. After graduating, he went to work for Highway Motors as a diesel mechanic.  He had many interests, but especially enjoyed woodworking. He appreciated the mountains and the scenic environment that the Valley provides.

In addition to his parents, Clint is survived by a companion of 16 years, Lisa Woods of Elkton; one brother, John S. Jeffries and wife, Christy, of Florence, S.C.; two sisters, Wendy Kris Hunt and husband, George, of Archdale, N.C., and Jennifer Rae Welch of Maryville, Tenn.; three nephews, Courtland Welch, Blaze Welch and Jarred Jeffries, and one niece, Jillian Jeffries.

The family is planning to hold a private service at a later date.

Online condolences may be made to the family at www.kygers.com.

You are in my thoughts and prayers
I will always remember Clint as the gentle mountain man; best friend of one of
my best friends, Mike. I will always remember the stories of your trip to the
store to pick up a loaf of bread that ended with you and Mike in California. I
will always remember your smile. My thoughts and prayers are with all who loved
Clint.

My prayers go out to Clint's Family and Friends.
We grew up together and shared
many good and bad times together. His many visits to Daytona for Bike Week will
always be treasured memories.
His passing has been hard on all who knew him. I
will miss his smile and laugh. He was a great friend.

my friend.

We wish to express our sincere sympathy to the entire family of Clint. Charles
is now retired from Highway Motors, but worked with him for a number of years
and always had high praise for him. We know this is a hard time for all of you,
but may God be with you all and give you comfort and peace during the coming
weeks and months ahead. Sometimes it is hard to understand why things happen
the way they do, but our prayers are with you. Charles & Dorothy

My heart goes out to all of the friends and family of Clint and Lisa. I have
worked with Clint for the last 12 years; he was great mentor to me and to many
of our coworkers. I will miss his sense of humor, his helpful nature and the
fact that he sat beside me every day at the lunch table. He will be greatly
missed by his "Highway Motors Family".

Our hearts are broken....
We are just so sorry that this precious life has been extinguished. Whenever I
think of Clint I smile,... In his quiet unassuming way he could light up a
space, and make us laugh. His sweet Lisa, his mom and dad, as well as ALL of
his immediate family, are our thoughts and prayers! xo

Dear Johnny, I was so saddened to read in the paper of Clint's death. My deepest
sympathy to you and each member of the family. My regards to your parents. I
remember your parents well and of course you and Clint, but I do not remember
the girls. They must have come along later. We were together in the very late
60s, and a lot has happened since then. Johnny, I think often, and fondly, of
you stopping by my house one night for a visit. I treasure that experience, and
I wish that you would do it again. I would love to meet your family. I hope that
your children are just like you. We need more Johnnys. Again I extend my deepest
sympathy to each of you in your loss of Clint. I know that he will be greatly
missed. Sincerely, Fred Fauber

To the Jeffries
Now that the profound shock and sadness has passed a tiny bit I look back on all
the memories I have of Clint growing up. Our families were so connected we were
practically an extension of each other and while time and distance separate us
the feeling remains.
I extend our deepest and sincerest wishes for all of you
to soon be at peace so that you to will be able to remember all of the ways
Clint made us laugh and smile.
Please know you are in our prayers during this
most difficult time.

Words fail when trying to comprehend something like this. We didn't know Clint
personally, but if he was anything like his Mom and Dad, he was a good man ,and
more importantly, a good person. Our deepest sympathy for your loss.

To Ron and Family
We have you in our thoughts and prayers. No parent should ever endure the loss
of a child. While I never met Clint, it sounds as though he was loved by many!
Knowing his Dad and reading the heart-felt comments above, it's not hard to
imagine the kind of person he was. His sense of humor and likeability resounds
in every comment. Peace be with you and your family.
