Prentiss Wilmer Shifflett Jr., 72, of Elkton, passed away April 16, 2010, at his home.
Mr. Shifflett was born Sept. 16, 1937, in Charlottesville, and was the son of the late Prentiss W. Shifflett and Ruby Virginia Snow.
Mr. Shifflett was a member of the Holy Infant Catholic Church in Elkton and loved vintage cars and traveling to antique car shows with his buddy, Charlie Dovel. He enjoyed tending to his yard and flowers and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He retired from Dupont after 35 years of service.
On Nov. 19, 1955, he married Delores (Maddy) Shifflett, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Jeffrey Lee Shifflett and wife, Fonda, of Port Republic; daughters, Sherrie Whitesel and husband, Steve, of Buford, Ga., Kathy Hostetler and husband, Keith, of Stokesdale, N.C.; a sister, Betty Sellers and husband, David, of Elkton; six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Following his wishes, all services will be private.
