My deepest sympathy for the loss of Travis. I hadn't been in touch in many
years, but thought of Travis many times. He was a great friend to me, and was
there when I needed him. I wish that I could've done the same for him. He will
be deeply missed. May he rest in peace. I will keep your family in my prayers.

Dear Betty and Joe and Curt,
It hurt to see Trav's name in the paper. I think about the fun we had when we
were kids, and we would play video games over at Big Steve and Cloe's house in
Harrisonburg. Trav was fun and he made me laugh. I'll miss him like I miss my
brother Shaf. They won't be here to get old with us. They will always be
young.

To Cross Over
Betty and Joe... Curtis:
I looked up Travis' name and it means "to cross
over." To me that says he's taken a journey and we can see him when we do
the same. There is nothing that hurts more and little any of us can say to
comfort you now. I want you to know I have thought of you often in these past
days. It can be so confusing trying to make sense of losing someone you love so
much. When I think of Travis I see the sunny-faced child with laugh crinkles in
the corner of his eyes. Tanned from spending as much time possible having fun
with the other kids. It's a good memory to have. Take care of yourselves and
each other.

To Joe, Betty and Curtis
We were so sorry to hearing of Travis' passing. I often lose contact with my
students but have always remembered Travis, who was a valued member of the
Montevideo Middle School band program. Please know that you and your family
will be in our thoughts in prayers during the coming months.
