Sandra Lee Myers Garber, 68, of Harrisonburg, passed away on Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Garber was born on Dec. 2, 1941, in London Derry Township, Pa., and was a daughter of the late Robert Glenn and Anna Louise West Myers.
Sandra was a homemaker and had worked as a cook for Lloyd's Steakhouse for many years. She loved to cook and was an avid canner. Mrs. Garber was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was a great Christian role model to all she knew. She had attended the Lighthouse Tabernacle in New Market.
On March 1, 1963, she married John Garber, who survives.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Garber is survived by a son, John M. Garber and wife, Lisa, of Harrisonburg; a daughter, Lora J. Nelson and husband, Andy, of Harrisonburg; two brothers, Ronnie W. Myers of Harrisonburg, Larry G. Myers of Thaxton, Va.; a sister, Shirley Lehigh of Middletown, Pa.; five grandchildren, Cody Garber, Katie Garber, Bobby Garber, David Nelson and Sara Nelson; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2010, at 2 p.m. at the Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg with Pastor Larry Myers officiating. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens.
The Garber family will receive friends Friday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
