M. Dawn Ritenour, 49, of Harrisonburg, died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2010, at her home.
Dawn was born Oct. 19, 1960, in Harrisonburg and was the daughter of Jon D. and Sandra Ritenour. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Lee and Madeline Huffman, Ruby Ritenour Thacker and Benjamin L. Ritenour.
Dawn graduated from Turner Ashby High School in 1980 and was a member of the Mount Sinai United Methodist Church, which is now Vision of Hope United Methodist Church. She was a history buff and loved studying living history.
Along with her parents, she is survived by her long-time companion, Frank Trobaugh Jr. of Harrisonburg; a brother, Chris Ritenour and wife, Eva, of Harrisonburg; two sisters, Angie Barnett and husband, Joe, of Harrisonburg, and LaVonne Williams and husband, Jerry, of Middlebourne, W.Va.; and nieces and nephews, Daniel Barnett, Sam Barnett, Michelle Williams, Justin Williams, Mekayla Smith and Sarah Ritenour.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010, at Vision of Hope United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Burch officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg.
