Debra Ann (Mullan) McCauley, 51, of Hinton, passed away Jan. 31, 2010, at the University of Virginia Medical Center. She was injured in an accident on Saturday, Jan. 23.
Mrs. McCauley was born Sept. 24, 1958, in Grafton, W.Va., and was a daughter of Leonard McCauley of Richlands, N.C., and Carrie Ann Rutherford Fitzwater of Grafton.
She moved to the area in 1989 and worked at the Virginia Poultry Growers in Hinton. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Besides her parents, she is survived by a fiancé, Jim Appleton of Hinton; sons, John Rutherford and wife, Jessica, of Zephyrhills, Fla., and Jeremiah Shaffer and wife, Krystal, of Elkton; daughters, Rebecca Shaffer of Pennsylvania, Jamie Wilt of Hickory, N.C., and Pricilla Mullan of Hinton; a brother, James Fitzwater of Grafton; sisters, Beverly Lucas of Ohio and Judy Kisner of West Virginia; and numerous grandchildren.
The family will receive friends this Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg. Friends may also call at the homes of her children and fiance at any time. Burial will be private.
