Daunne Sharon McMullin Lawrence

Daunne Sharon McMullin Lawrence went to be with the Lord on Jan. 31, 2010, after a long and difficult illness.

Daunne was born on March 26, 1953, and was the daughter of the late Betty Jean McMullin and Ward F. Webb; she was adopted by James E. McMullin Jr., all of Princeton, W.Va.

On Sept. 30, 1972, she married Russell C. Lawrence, who survives. In addition to her husband, Daunne is survived by a son, Heath Vaughn Lawrence; a daughter and son-in-law, Bethany Daunne and Jeffrey Todd Litten; and two grandchildren, Carter and Delilah Lawrence, all of Harrisonburg. She also cared for six foster children.

Daunne was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where she taught junior high and adult Sunday school for many years. She also was actively involved with Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Valley Greeters and as a Sunnyside volunteer. She was a member and past president of Quota International Club of Harrisonburg for 10 years.

"Mama Daunne" was like a mother to many, young and old. She will be remembered for all the kind acts and deeds she did for others.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg. A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church on Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010, at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Quota International of Harrisonburg, 5091 Rawley Pike, Harrisonburg, VA  22801.

Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.kygers.com.

My sincere condolences
I will cherish the great memories of the times we all spent together -
especially Christmas and all the snowmen - and the times spent just hanging out
watching TV! I am so sorry for your loss and let me know how I can be there for
you during this time of grief. May our memories give us the strength in the
days ahead.
