Brandon Leon Lantz, 18, of Elkton, passed away Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010, following a motor vehicle accident.
Brandon was born Feb. 5, 1991, in Harrisonburg, and was a son of Delbert "Leon" Lantz Jr. and companion, Dana, and Angela "Michelle" Hutton Lantz and companion, Andy Good, all of Elkton.
Brandon attended Spotswood High School and graduated from Massanutten Technical Center and was a member of the Blue Ridge Independent Church near Elkton. He had been employed by McDonald's in Elkton and also performed landscaping. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Besides his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Matt Rexrode and Benjamin Mikel Good, both of Elkton; two sisters, Ashley Renee Lantz and Courtney Dawn Lantz, both of Elkton; stepbrother and stepsister, Anthony Shifflett and Katie Francisco; girlfriend, Holly Terry; grandparents, Mike and Carolyn Hutton, Delbert Lantz Sr. and Vivian Lantz, all of Elkton; great-grandmothers, Bernice Hutton of Elkton and Dorothy Lantz of Penn Laird; great-grandfather, Gene Hansbrough; uncles, Jeff Lantz Sr. and wife, Lisa, and Mickey Hutton; aunt, Carrie Hutton; great uncles, Ralph Lantz and wife, Ruth, and Eddie Lantz; nephew, Aidan Rexrode; and special cousins, Jeffrey Wayne Lantz Jr., Lindsey Lantz, Matt Mowbray and Cassie Hutton.
Brandon was also preceded in death by his grandmother, Beverly Good, and great-grandparents, Max Hutton Sr., Bettie Hansbrough, Cecil and Minnie Shifflett and Dolan Lantz.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010, at the Full Gospel Lighthouse Tabernacle near Elkton with the Rev. Homer Frazier, Pastor Ronald Spencer and Pastor Carter Dean officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Peter's Cemetery near Elkton.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton.
