Frank Wesley Haden, 62, of Harrisonburg, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 21, 2010, at Rockingham Memorial H ospital.
Mr. Haden was born on April 17, 1947, in Martinsville, Va., and was a son of the late Wesley Odell and Mary Catherine Fulcher Haden.
After graduating from Virginia Tech in 1973, Mr. Haden worked for John W. Daniel Inc., Moss Construction, Kline Realty and severa l Insurance companies, most recently, Humana. He was a member of the Rockingham Union No. 27, the ACCA Temple Shrine of Richmond, B.P.O.E. No. 450, Harrisonburg First Presbyterian Church and was a lifetime member of the Myers-Hodges VFW Post No. 8644 in Bridgewater. Mr. Haden served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from 1967 until 1968.
On May 14, 1988, he married Patricia H. Haden, who survives.
In addition to his wife, Frank is survived by his stepson, Charles "Chad" Eaton, and wife, Heather, of Harrisonburg; two brothers, Howard R. Haden and wife, Carol, of Spring, Texas, and Jack W. Haden and wife, Anita, of Collinsville, Va.; a sister, Dorothy H. Burcham and husband, Clyde, of Radford, Va.; a nephew, Joseph Burcham and wife, Amanda, of Woodbridge, Va.; a niece, Kelly Haden of Harrisonburg; and two granddaughters, Brooke and Kallie Eaton.
The burial will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 25, 2010, at Woodbine Cemetery with military rites by the Dayton American Legion Post No. 27. A memorial service will follow on Monday at 2 p.m. at the Harrisonburg First Presbyterian Church with Dr. John Sloop officiating.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 5 until 7 p.m. at the Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg.
