Gwen & Pat,
I am so sorry to hear about your mother. The last thing I knew, she was doing
well. When I returned to work, she was no longer on our floor, and I had assumed
she had been discharged home.

I apologize for not being in touch sooner.
Please know that you all are in my thoughts & prayers.

It was a pleasure to
have known her. Though the time was limited, the quality was wonderful! Seeing
her smile, amongst the pain, was an ever-precious moment to me. I'll never
forget her little dancing Santa Claus and how she laughed so heartily when we
'boogied' to it! :)

The memories are what we have to live on. I am certain
you all have many wonderful memories of Mrs. Short!

Much love,

Kandy

Dear Family of Ruth Short
We wanted to let you no how sorry we are to hear about Mrs. Short. She was a
dear lady and we will still think of her often.

It was a pleasure knowing
her when she and Mr. Short lived in Churchville. They were both two of the
nicest people we ever got the priviledge to know.

I met them when I was 15
years old. My brother (Steve) and I painted the basement for them and did some
other little odd jobs. She would make us the best sandwiches!

Later when I
got married they were so kind as to let my husband & I cut some trees on their
property for firewood. My sons got to meet them too. And still, she would offer
to make all of sandwiches! Though we didn't impose on her to do so.

We helped
them move the last bit of belongings into their appartment in Harrisonburg and
we were honored to do so. After that we kept in touch through Christmas cards
and we always enjoyed the little extra "writings" they alwaysKaren & Chuck Berry 2010-01-30 09:48:20
