Raymonde Georgette "Monica" Michaud Merica, 82, of Elkton, passed away Jan. 5, 2010, at her home.
Mrs. Merica was born April 3, 1927, in LaHavre, France.
She attended the Catholic Church in her youth. She was a homemaker and enjoyed yard sales and collecting antiques.
Her husband, Wilmer Thomas Merica, died Jan. 7, 1993. She is survived by a son, Wilmer "Buck" Merica Jr. and wife, Odessa; a daughter, Essie Lawson and husband, Leo, all of Elkton; seven grandchildren, Lisa Winegard and husband, Stephen, Lee Lawson and wife, Shelly, Cory Merica, Cassie Merica, Tyler Merica, Robbie Taylor and Katie Taylor; two great-grandchildren, Isaiah Flavell and Hayla Hensley; and special friend, Cindy Merica of Elkton.
Pastor Mark Leatherman will conduct the funeral service 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 8, 2010, at the Kyger Funeral Home Chapel in Elkton. Burial will follow at Elk Run Cemetery in Elkton.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
