Lena Morris Shifflett, 81, of Elkton, went to be with her Lord Sunday, Nov. 22, 2009, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Lena was born in Greene County Aug. 12, 1928, and was the daughter of the late Waymon and Madie Collier Morris.
She attended the Upper Room Church near Elkton. Lena\'s joy was living and working for her Lord and family.
In 1945, she married James Randolph Shifflett, who preceded her in death on May 18, 1986. She is survived by four children: daughter, Brenda Williams; three sons, Ronnie, Donnie and Garland Shifflett, all of Elkton; 10 grandchildren; one stepgrandson; 17 great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; three sisters, Christine Branham, Pauline Conley and D.J. Lamb; and one brother, Edward Morris, all of Stanardsville. Besides her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Early Morris.
Funeral services will be held at the Kyger Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009, with Pastor Carter Dean, Pastor Ronald Spencer, the Rev. Homer Frazier and Pastor Barbara Hensley officiating. Burial will follow at Elk Run Cemetery in Elkton.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton. Friends and family may also call at Lena\'s home.
