Otho David Grimm of 4625 Williamsburg Road, Linville, died Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009, at Oak Lea Nursing Home, where he had been a patient for over four months.
Mr. Grimm was born April 1, 1926, in Mount Crawford, Va., and was the son of the late Emmett C. and Etta Byerly Grimm.
Mr. Grimm attended Weyers Cave and Bridgewater High School. He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church since 1962. He had been a DHIA Supervisor for Rockingham County, District Sales Rep. for West Agro, and had owned Dairy Supply Co., from which he retired in 1996. He loved country music and was in several local country western bands over the years.
On Aug. 26, 1951, he married Wilma Getz Grimm, who survives. They celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary this year.
He is also survived by four children, David Grimm and wife, Debbie, of Staunton, Diana Grimm of Morgantown, W.Va., Pamela Grimm Esquire and husband, Dr. Edward Sandy, of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Amy Popp and husband, Brian, of Virginia Beach; five grandchildren, Tracey Grimm, Jake Bajada, and Rachel, Rebecca and Ryan Popp; a sister, Charlotte Hawse of Harrisonburg; and a brother, Carl Grimm of California.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009, at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Larry Thompson officiating. The family will receive friends at Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg Monday from 6 to 8 p.m.
