Helen and family;
Roy and I want to send you and your family our love and
prayers during this difficult time. Know that if there is anything that we can
do just give us a call. We were so sorry to hear of Ron's passing. We were out
of town. I always enjoyed talking with Ron when I would call. Thoughts and
prayers are with you.

Second Father
You guys were like my second family, lord knows my own was out of sorts. Todd
and I used to take turns staying at each other's houses. Your house was very
normal, while mine was not. Eating dinner with you, there was always
"grace" said. Helen, both you and Ron were great parents, even to me.
Mr. G. always reminded me of the father figure in "Davey and
Goliath"....very soft spoken and didn't say much unless it was important.
Todd and I spoke about a couple of our own episodes the other day. Although we
didn't stay in contact that much when you moved, Ron's family (the Gaiewski's)
and your family (the Eye's) always made me feel like family. For that, I thank
you both.

friends
Mrs. G and family,
I spoke with my dad last night-Pastor Roy Nilsen-& he told
me of Mr. G's death. We are so very sorry. He was such a nice man & Charlie
still remembers discussing sports cards & Univ of Maryland with him. You both
were so good to all of us after mom died & kept an eye on dad. I know in my
heart that mom was there in heaven to greet Mr. G with a big hug. Our thoughts &
prayers are with you all.

Helen and family--yesterday, I was thinking about old times in Nesconset, and
thinking about my old pal Ron who used to pick me up to play ball at the school,
and about all the good times we had together. Ron was a good athlete. And then I
remember when he went to U. Maryland, and on vacations would tell me about the
football players he knew, etc. And when I googled Ron, I saw that he'd recently
passed. So sorry, and I hope you'll all be well.... I remember, too, how his
folks tried to raise chinchillas, and remember beveling strips of leather for
belts--I guess Mr. Gaiewski used to work in the garment district in NYC? In
short, Ron was one of my very best childhood friends. That Long Island rural
childhood we had is vanished, but I remember and remember--I published a book
called Long Island Light, and another called Home: Autobiographies, and a novel
about high school called Vic Holyfield and the Class of 1957 which hold man...

Grandma, Mom and Uncle Todd
Poppy,
I can't believe it's been a year this very day that we lost you. We
ALL miss and love you sooo much! The one thing I miss the most about you is
your hugs and telling me you loved me everytime we talked on the phone. My son,
your great-grandson, is now 7 months and growing so fast. I'm sure you're up
there looking down on us enjoying seeing him and all the family continue to move
forward. My son will know everything about you and you will never be forgotten.
I'm sooo sorry I didn't come down and get to you see you all very much and I
wish I was able to go back in time and come down or call a lot more than I did.
I just felt that I didnt get to say goodbye completely so I am here now telling
you. I love you and will see you in Heaven a day in the future. We love you so
much!
Love always and forever your granddaughter,

Poppy,
You were the greatest grandpa anyone could ever want. I love
you so much and miss you alot too. It is starting to get into the holiday season
and i'm really starting to miss you more and more. Going to the christamas show
and all the places we used to go just makes me really sad because we used to
have so much fun and it was just always a great time. I will always remember the
good times we had like all of the coffee and slushy and donut runs to seven
eleven, all the coin collecting, stamp collecting, coloring, painting and just
any art stuff ( you were the only one that trully loved to do that as much as I
did), i remember catdog too:) We always had the best of times together. I don't
know what to do about mommy:( she misses you so much and i hate seeing her cry
almost every day i don't know what to do it makes me want to cry too but i have
to stay strong for mommy. I wish this would all get better. I wish i c...
