Lalia Jean Barker, 67, of Luray, died on Thursday, July 9, 2009, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital.
She was born on Aug. 14, 1941, in St. Louis, Mo., and was a daughter of Maybelle Stokes Farrell of Stanley.
Mrs. Barker was a member of the Rileyville Baptist Church and was an avid gardener and basket weaver. She was a staff member for Senator Bill Roth of Delaware before retiring.
Surviving in addition to her mother and her husband, Bob Barker, are four daughters, Katherine Ingram of Woodbridge, Brenda Barker of Mount Crawford, Krista Thompson of Copperas Cove, Texas, and Kimberly Butler of Martinsburg, W.Va.; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services were private.
