Lewis Howard "Buddy" Herring

Lewis Howard “Buddy” Herring, 75, of Elkton, passed away July 12, 2009, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital.

 

Mr. Herring was born Nov. 2, 1933, in Elkton, and was the son of the late Melvin and Pauline Monger Herring.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Elkton and the Junior Order of the United American Mechanics. He worked at Snyder’s Plumbing & Heating and also owned and operated Herring’s Heating & Repair. Prior to his death, he was employed at Great Eastern Resorts.

On Dec. 10, 1971, he married Alice Virginia (Campbell) Herring, who survives. Also surviving are brothers, Harold W. Herring, Jimmy E. Herring, both of Elkton; a sister, Georgia Ann “Dolly” Herring of Elkton and special nephew, Carl Herring of Elkton.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 15, 2009, at the Kyger Funeral Home Chapel in Elkton. Pastor Stephen Renalds, the Rev. Warren Grant and the Rev. John Sullivan will conduct the service. Burial will follow in the Elk Run Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Herring home at any time.

Alice,
I was so sorry to hear that Buddy had passed away. You both were always
kind to me and I remember the happy times that Roger and I spent at your house.
I hope that happy memories will sustain you and that God will grant you peace is
