retired from teaching @ farming
Dear Jimmy:
I hope I have the correct person. I was in College with you back
in the late fifties and early sixties. I just want you to know we are thinking
of you & the family during this difficult time. Both of us have been down that
road.
I finally wound up teaching Gov't & U. S. Hist. @ Harrisonburg H. S.
for 36 consec. years in the same room in the same building. Much of it was AP -
with the best students. We sold the farms and retired from all our jobs in 2005
& bought on the G. Course in N. Market but don't play golf. Well so much for
that. Maybe sometime you can e-mail us and I can write more Stop in if you ever
have a chance. May the Lord be with all of you at this time.

My sincere sympathy to each member of Nell's family. My grandmother was a sister
to Nell's mother. I guess that makes me a "cousin". After too many
years of no contact, I had a couple of really nice visits with Nell at RMH and
H'bg Rehab Ctr. I'm sorry that I did not know that she was at Willow Estates
until too late for a visit. It was so nice to know her. Al Saufley

My deepest sympathies
I am so sorry for the loss to your family. I have many fond memories of growing
up 2 houses down from Mrs. Crump and spent many fun times playing in her yard
with Todd and other neighborhood kids. She was a very nice person.

Todd, GW, CP, and the Crump family,

I was sorry to hear about Mrs. Crump's
passing. Like Peggy I have many fond memories of playing in her
yard;..football, wiffle ball, kick ball, climbing trees, etc. I also would come
down to watch Speed Racer and other shows with Todd and Mrs Crump would make
popcorn for us. One of my favorite memories though is from the school
cafeteria. When I was in high school, I collected coins. Mrs. Crump knew this.
One day when I paid for my lunch she handed me my change and one of the coins
was was silver quarter (pre 1964). She did not say a word about it, she just
handed it to me like it was just my regular change. A few years ago when i was
back in Elkton I visited her and told her that I rememsjkhbered when she did
that. She just smiled. She still did not fees up to giving me special
treatment but I know she did. She was great lady and will be missed by me and
many, many others....

To Mrs. Crump's Family,
I was a student at Elkton High School and remember the
kindness and helpfulness that she always showed the students. My school
"daze" were made much brighter because of Nell and her thoughtfulness.
She will be greatly missed.
