Rosemary B. Shomo, 89, of Fort Myers, Fla., departed this life May 14, 2009. She was the beloved wife of Glen K. Shomo Jr., who still resides in Fort Myers. In September of this year the Shomos were to celebrate 70 years of marriage. Both are members of McGregor Baptist Church in Fort Myers.

Surviving in addition to her husband, are a daughter, Lynn Redford and husband, Andrew, of Richmond; a son, Glen K. Shomo III and wife, Nancy, of Harrisonburg; and five grandchildren: Mark Redford, and wife, Autumn, Christina Pharr and husband, Scott, Lisa Rainey and husband, Jonathan, Matthew Shomo and wife, Kimberly and Amanda Shomo. She was blessed with six great-grandchildren, Halle and Kyla Pharr, Drew and Alex Redford, Ellah Rainey and Conner Shomo.

Friends may call Friday, May 22, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Kyger Funeral Home, Route 33 East in Harrisonburg. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 23, at 11 a.m. at Kyger Funeral Home.
