To my second family:
I have you all to thank in regards to my special relationship with Grandad. He meant so much to me. I really did think of him as an adopted grandfather. I will miss him dearly. Grandmom, I love you and I will be over to visit soon. Meatloaf and potatoes sounds good, afterall that would be his favorite meal :) I will continue to keep you in my prayers.
Sincerely,
Casey

Dear Jean and family,
We are saddened at your loss. Bill was a dear friend to both of us and our family. He was a very warm and loving individual. Among his many artistic creations are two
beautiful wooden plaques that hang in the front of our local church. We think of him every time we are there.
May God comfort you and give you strength during this fifficult time. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Retiring many years ago as the chief operating officer of VM I have a great memory of Van as a member of our staff with unusual personal talents. I am grateful another important member of our staff, Sam Phillips and I had the opportunity to visit with Van in his home a couple of years ago. My condolences to the entire family.

Dear Jean,
We were so sorry to read in the paper about your loss. We often think of you and Bill and what good neighbors you were from the start, even before we moved into our house. (Bill intervened when he noticed a van parked on our lot loading up a pile of lumber!) It was always a comfort to know we had such friends close by, and we miss you still. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I am so sorry for your loss. Van will be very missed in this world, he was so loving and kind. He was like a grandaddy to my little sister and I, we eagerly awaited his visits when we were little, and he never ever forgot to bring us a little brown bag with some neat candy that he found for us. He will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
I am so sorry for your loss of your father. I know how much you loved and admired him..he will truly be missed. May you and your family find comfort in knowing that he is with our heavenly father - at peace. My prayers are with you and your family.

Dear Jean and Family,
WE were truly saddened with the news of Van's passing. I enjoyed many years of a highly pleasurable work relationship with Van. We enjoyed many fishing trips to the Rappahanock. Van's Artistic talents, in my estimation, were not recognized for his greatness. We have lost a good friend and a true Gentleman. Jean, our prayers are with and the Family.

Jimmy and Family;
You and your family have our sincere sympathy in the passing of your brother, Bill. I just read of his death in the Charlottesville Daily Progress.
My husband, Robert L. "Red" Pulliam went to Randolph-Macon with him and remembers him well.
Last year "Red" was the President of the "Old Grads" group. The paper mentioned the fact that Bill designed the seal for this organization.
Again, our condolences to your entire family.

Jean & Family,
Thinking of you as you go through this sad time. Billie Taylor and I think and speak of you often when we are together, and I will send her the info to be in touch. She still hears at Christmastime I believe.
Bill certainly did his part while here and will be remembered for his efforts.
Prayers and thoughts are with you.
Maybe our paths will cross sometime in the near future. What a treat that would be.
