Evelyn L. Johnson

Evelyn Laverne Johnson of Harrisonburg went to be with her Lord on April 13, 2009.

Evelyn was born on Aug. 14, 1917, in Augusta County, and was the daughter of the late Thomas and Laura Swink Eutsler.

On Oct. 9, 1935, she married Elmer N. Johnson, who preceded her in death in 1980. 

She was a loving mother to son, Kenneth Johnson; son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Jessie Johnson; daughters, Carole Harper and Linda Nelson, all of Harrisonburg; and son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Sue Johnson of Goldsboro, N.C. She is also survived by her sister, Sue Colaw of Harrisonburg; 11 grandchildren and 16 great- grandchildren. 

A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 17, 2009, at 3 p.m. at Covenant Presbyterian Church with Pastor Bill Leach officiating.  A private burial will be held at Beaver Creek Church of the Brethren Cemetery.

Arrangements entrusted to the Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg.

Jerry, Sue and family....so sorry to read of your Mother\'s passing. I know

Mrs. Johnson will be greatly missed. She was a wonderful lady & neighbor. We
lived next door to her on Wolfe Street for 27 years. Our thoughts and prayers
are with you!
