Dora May Taylor, 98, of Harrisonburg, passed away on Monday, March 30, 2009, at Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community. Dora was the eldest of five children. She was born on Oct. 28, 1910, to Edgar and Verna Martin Taylor near Malvern, Pa.
She graduated from EMHS in 1928 and from EMC in 1933. Following her studies she worked for eight years among the Cuban population in Ibor City in Tampa, Fla. At age 35, Dora entered LaJunta Mennonite School of Nursing and graduated in 1948 with the Linda Evans Award. She received an achievement award from Colorado State Nurses
