Olin Stanley Mitchell, 79, of Harrisonburg, died Friday, Feb. 27, 2009, at Evergreene Nursing Center in Stanardsville.
Mr. Mitchell was born Jan. 14, 1930, and was the son of the late Albert and Edna Mitchell.
He was a member of Mount Zion Lutheran Church in Franklin, W.Va., and attended Bethel Church of the Brethren in Keezletown. He was a Postal Clerk in Harrisonburg for 25 years before his retirement in 1990.
On May 16, 1952, he married Helen Estep Mitchell, who survives. He is also survived by two brothers, Curtis Mitchell of Dayton, and Walter Frank Mitchell of Bel Air, Md.; three nieces and two nephews.
A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, March 2, 2009, at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens with the Rev. William Staton and the Rev. Wayne Wright officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg.
