We were so very sorry to hear of Homer\'s passing. We were lucky to have known him for the short time that Lisa lived beside of us and we know what a great guy he was. We hope that his love will live within you all and sustain you during this sorrowful time. Lisa, call me if you need a shoulder.

I am so sorry for the lose of Homer. He and I grew up on Water Street and had many good times before the age of 10. I still carry the chipped tooth he gave in a fist fight we had, inwhich he won hands down. We played high school baseball together. Homer loved the game. He gave it his all, as he did most everything in his life. We all will miss Homer. Mona, and family our prays are with you, he loved you so.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I can look at your Dad's picture and know where you got your good looks and after reading about him I definitly learned how you came about your love for JMU sports.
Remember the good times and the more recent bad times will fade. Your Dad is with God now and he is looking after him and you.

My thoughts and prayers are with each of you during this time of great loss. I know he will be greatly missed. I enjoyed working with Homer. I remember the summer he played on my slow pitch softball team. My daughter, Danielle, also remembers that summer and the fun we had playing ball. If you need anything, just let me know. Dave and family.

My prayers and thoughts go to Mona and her family. I played football with Homer when Crafty Warren was the coach. He was the object of teasing and I must say he was one of the most gracious persons I have ever knew. He dished it out the teasing as it was given to him.

Lisa,
I'm so sorry to see that you have lost your Dad. He had the nicest sense of humor and made me feel welcome when I came to JMU many years ago.
Recently I have found comfort in something Tony Snow said while he was ill. Tony was press secretary to President Bush and said this in part:
"...remember that we were born not into death, but into life—and that the journey continues after we have finished our days on this earth. We accept this on faith, but that faith is nourished by a conviction that stirs even within many nonbelieving hearts—an intuition that the gift of life, once given, cannot be taken away. ...even though God doesn't promise us tomorrow, he does promise us eternity—filled with life and love we cannot comprehend—and that one can in the throes of sickness point the rest of us toward timeless truths that will help us weather future storms."
Your family is my thoughts and prayers.

Lisa,
I wanted you to know that I am thinking about you as you adjust to the loss of your Dad. I remember how supportive he was when you were an athlete at HHS. Your family remains a part of the fond memories I have as a coach. May God provide you comfort in the upcoming days. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Lisa & Mona,
I was so deeply saddened to hear of Homer's passing. My thoughts and prayers go out to you during this difficult time. I know I have not seen either of you in a very, very long time but I always think of you from time to time. Hold on to and cherish the lifetime of wonderful memories you had with Homer and know that he is looking over you with a big smile on his face. Take each day one at a time.

Homer was a real gentleman; we will always remember him along the JMU football sidelines always doing a professional job.
When you think of Muhlenberg Lutheran Church, we will always remember Homer helping others and greeting everyone. Sorry we could not attend visitation and the funeral service as we were out of the area on business. We will be thinking of Mona, Lisa, and family members.

Dear Mona, Lisa and Addison,
You are in our prayers. I know you will miss Homer (Jr.) so very much, but be comforted to know he is without pain and suffering now with our Lord.
You all were alway so very special to our family. So many Christmas mornings you came to Mom's and Dad's house and shared the speical day with us.
