Judith Wentz Schramm, 90, of Falls Church, Va., passed away on Jan. 16, 2009 at Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community in Harrisonburg, Va.  Mrs. Schramm was born on Feb. 14, 1918, in Middletown, Conn., and was the daughter of the late Gus Wentz and Judith Ekstrom Wentz Johnson.

She was also preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, CMSgt Edward Harry Schramm, retired 1254^th Air Transport Sqd., USAF, who preceded her in death on Aug. 18, 1993.

Mrs. Schramm, a homemaker, worked at Colt Arms in Hartford, Conn. during World War II.  She was baptized and confirmed in the Swedish Covenant Church in Middletown, Conn.

She is survived by two daughters, J. Susanne Simmons and husband, Claude, of Churchville, Va. and Donna C. Marshall of Williamsburg, Va. and two grandchildren, Amanda Simmons and Hannah Simmons, both of Staunton, Va.

A graveside service will be held at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia at a later date.

Sue, Donna and family, I am deeply sorry for your loss. As you know, your mom and mine, we practically inseparable for so many years. I thanked your mom, two years ago when my mother passed away, for the help, care and companionship she showed through the years. You might have thought they were sisters.
