James William Lam, 78, of Elkton, passed away on Friday, Dec. 12, 2008, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Lam was born Jan. 29, 1930, in Rockingham County, and was the son of the late Henry and Nannie Dean Lam.
James drove a Shen-Gas truck for a number of years and also worked at Dunham-Bush in Harrisonburg for many years prior to his retirement in 1992. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and especially loved watching NASCAR. James was also a member of the Blue Ridge Independent Church.
On Aug. 17, 1952, he married Doris Dean, who survives.
