Thomas Robert Stevens Sr., 82, formerly of Elkton, passed away Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008, at the home of his son in Verona.

Mr. Stevens was born in Rose Creek, Minn., on June 29, 1926, and was the son of the late Thomas Andrew and Magdalena Wagner Stevens.

He was a World War II and Korean War veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force, respectfully. He worked in law enforcement for numerous years with the Town of Elkton, achieving the rank of Chief of Police. Simultaneously, he was also employed for a brief time with the U.S. Marshal

I am sorry to hear that Tom has passed on. He was a great police officer. I truely enjoyed working and learning from him during the years he was a member with the Massanutten Police Department.
