Dorothy Virginia Linhoss, 83, of Harrisonburg, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Oct. 16, 2008.

Mrs. Linhoss was born Dec. 21, 1924, in Rockingham County, and was the daughter of the late Albert and Blanch Leake Shifflett.

Mrs. Linhoss was a member of the Providence Baptist Church and Hose Company No. 4 Ladies

I have only known Dorothy for two years but feel like I have known her forever. She was a fine lady and was loved by many. She was always quick with compliments, never said an unkind word about anyone, and was a joy to be around. My family and I wish to send our sincere sympathy to all her family and friends. This week Heaven received a gift from Earth. Like her beautiful glass in the sunlight, Aunt Dot has brightened the stars. She surely will be missed by all that were blessed to know her, but are comforted by the fact that she is with our Lord and Savior. We rejoice that Aunt Dot is meeting her Creator and dancing with her family that has prepared a special place in the hills of Heaven. God Bless Uncle Ray and the family and ease their sorrow.
