Harold Cleveland Ervin, 92, of Harrisonburg, died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008, at Sunnyside Presbyterian Retirement Community.
Mr. Ervin was born June 2, 1916, in Arbovale, W.Va., and was the son of the late Claude Ode and Mabel Lambert Ervin.
He was an Army veteran of World War II and was a member of the VFW Post No. 632 in Harrisonburg. He was a painter for Zirkle and Zirkle Paint Company before retiring.
On June 2, 1969, he married Helen Aleshire Life, who preceded him in death in 2004.
Survivors include two daughters, Doris "Lee" Sprinkles of Palm Desert, Calif., and Linda Thomas of McGaheysville; a son, Ronnie Life of Harrisonburg; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
His body will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
