Hazel Virginia Beall, 88, of Grottoes, died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2008, at her home after a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Beall was born May 17, 1920, on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, and was the daughter of the late Franklin and Etta Abbott Spurry.
She lived in North East Baltimore and on the Chesapeake Bay. She was a nurse at the University of Maryland for a number of years and worked at several department stores in the Baltimore area. She attended the Methodist Church in her youth.
On Aug. 8, 1959, she married Richard Henry Beall, who survives. She is also survived by a nephew and a grand nephew.
A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Baltimore, Md.
Arrangements are by Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg.
