Dear Lambert Family, my sympathy is with you in the loss of Merv. But, I also
want to celebrate and commend him for making the L & S Diner such a crossroads
and center of good food and community for Harrisonburg. I believe the German
people call it 'Stammtisch' where people just talk with each other, no matter
who is next to you on the next stool.

As a young boy, I remember Merv (Mr.
Lambert) always had a smile and attention to service and quality... and he let
me have the little-boy thrill of refilling my water glass out of the dispenser
on the counter.

My best wishes to you all to work through all of the pleasant
memories in your mourning. God Bless.
