Christopher, I just wanted to express my condolences to you and your family.
Your dad was a very nice person. I met him when he was working at VDOT and he
took my class for enrichment. He thought the world of you and your mother, and I
did meet her before she passed away. He was so very proud of you. He will be
missed.

Gary was a very quiet compassionate man. I knew him for 7 years and was always
impressed by his views on life and how he had a "never give up"
philosophy for life. When things got rough for him he always bounced back. Being
from the same generation, we had wonderful conversations over the years. What a
great sense of humor! Gary NEVER had anything bad to say about anybody unless
they truely deserved it. His main focus was to be there for Chris. He really
loved you. Talked about you alot. Chris if you ever want to hang out you know
where to contact me. Your Dad enriched my life as well as many others. He
reminded me alot of Will Rogers, very simplistic observations and always right.
I'm gonna miss your Dad a whole lot. When your interested some day I'd love to
tell you some funny stories. If you ever need any help in the future, I'm in
your corner.

Heaven has gained yet another special angel. It was a pleasure and a honor
knowing Gary. Of the many things I always heard people say when commenting about
him was his determination to fight and mostly the love that he had for his son.
Know that he will always be with you. May God Bless you and keep you close
during this difficult time.
