Mary Harris, formerly of Keezletown and now residing in the Bridgewater
Retirement Community, sends her deepest sympathy and warmest regards to Narice
and all the family on the death of Rennie. She was a very special woman whom
Mary was priviledged to know as a friend for many years. Our prayers are with
you all.
sincerely, Jimmy Harris, Staunton (Mary's youngest son)

My sincerest condolences on the passing of Bill's mother. We are perhaps most
truly seen in our children: here was surely a fine and noble woman.

The
poets always say it best: Robert Frost --

Nature's first green is gold,
Her
hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then
leaf subsides to leaf,
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to
day
Nothing gold can stay.

Bill and George:
My mother and I are so sorry to read of your
mother\\\'s passing. Your mother will be missed by many, including
my mother, who stayed in touch with her after all these many years. Fortunately,
our parents never lost their friendship.

This poem gave me some comfort when my grandmother passed:

A Parable of
Immortality

I am standing upon the seashore.
A ship at my side spreads her
white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean.
She is an
object of beauty and strength.
I stand and watch until at last she hangs like a
speck of white cloud
Just where the sea and the sky come to mingle with each
other.
Then someone says, "There she goes!"
Gone where?
Gone from my
sight, that is all.
She is just as large in mast and hull and spar as she was
when she left my side
And just as able to bear her load of living freight to
the place of destination.
Her diminished size is in me, not in her.
And just
at the moment when someone at my side says, "There she goes"
There are
other eyes watching her coming
And their voices ready to take up the glad
shouts,
"Here she comes!"

A friend and colleague from the banking days, Rennie always had a kind word, a
great laugh and seasoned advice for those who worked with her. I learned a lot.
Thank you Rennie.
