Christopher Alan Maiden, 23, of Elkton, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Aug. 4, 2008.

Christopher was born May 6, 1985, in Harrisonburg, and was the son of Rickie and Debby Maiden and Karla Stoneberger Marshall and John Marshall, all of Elkton.

He was a 2003 graduate of Spotswood High School and was employed at the Wal-Mart Distribution Center in Mount Crawford. Christopher loved hunting, fishing and spending time outdoors–he lived life to the fullest. He was attending the Shenandoah Assembly of God Church.

Besides his parents, he is survived by his wife, Priscilla May-Maiden; stepbrothers, Timmy Marshall of Grottoes, Robert Marshall of Warrenton, Brandon Hensley of Alexandria; stepsisters, Tabitha Hensley of Harrisonburg, Tara Evans of Grottoes; a special cousin, Charity Clements of Elkton; grandparents, H.L. Maiden Jr. and Mildred, Charles Stoneberger, Joyce Morris. Christopher was preceded in death by a grandmother, Shirley Stoneberger.

Pastor Carter Dean will conduct the funeral service 11:00 Friday, Aug. 8, 2008, at the Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton. Burial will be in the Dean Mountain Cemetery on Skyline Drive.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

We can relate to your pain because of what we went through with Jeff, except that we were fortunate enough to get him back. Please forgive us for not getting to see any of you at the funeral home or at your homes.   Karla, my heart aches for you everytime I go down the road and see your house, knowing that your precious son won't be coming home.   Rick, our heart goes out to you knowing that you were so proud of your son, and then having something so tragic happen to him. They welcomed me to the school. Even after I moved everywhere they saw me they never hesiated to say Hello.
